I mentioned in a post earlier this week that I had had an impromptu trip to Lincoln Cathedral and how inspiring that trip was.
Well here is a review about the Cathedral which makes it onto a list of must see Cathedrals in the UK.
“Lincoln Cathedral has stood proudly over its city for almost 1000 years. Commissioned by William the Conqueror, the cathedral was consecrated in 1092, becoming the centre of the largest diocese in England, extending from the River Humber to the River Thames. Once described by Victorian writer John Ruskin as “out and out the most precious piece of architecture in the British Isles and roughly speaking worth any two other cathedral we have”, Lincoln Cathedral is not to be missed.”
What visitors say:
“Inspiring and immense building!”
It is most definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Lincoln
